On October 27, 2024, Hunan Normal University celebrated its 86th anniversary. On this special occasion, the university’s Alumni Entrepreneurs Alliance held a grand meeting for its board re-election. The meeting was attended by Jiang Hongxin, Party Secretary of Hunan Normal University, Liu Zhonghua, President, Wang Hui, Vice President, as well as over 200 attendees including representatives of the Alumni Entrepreneurs Alliance, alumni associations from other universities, alumni representatives, leaders from relevant functional departments and alumni offices of secondary colleges.
During this board re-election meeting, Tat Ka Wai Hong Pharmaceutical Group donated 10 million yuan to establish the “Hunan Normal University Medical High-level Talent Recruitment and Cultivation Fund,” supporting the university’s Medical Department in attracting top talent. By setting up the Tat Ka Wai Hong Talent Special Fund at the Medical Department, co-building an Innovative Pharmaceutical Technology Engineering Center or key laboratories, and transforming the development of in-hospital formulations into new drug research and development, both parties aim to share resources, achieve mutual benefits, and accelerate the transformation and implementation of scientific and technological achievements.
The board re-election meeting brought together alumni entrepreneurs from across the country to review past achievements and elect the new leadership team. Through a vote, Tat Ka Wai Hong Pharmaceutical Group’s Chairman, Wang Yiqing, was re-elected as the President of the Alumni Entrepreneurs Alliance and was honored with the “Outstanding Contribution Award” and “Public Welfare Contribution Award.” He stated that the new board and secretariat would continue to innovate in activity formats, cooperation models, and organizational development, contributing to the construction of their alma mater and the “Alumni Returning to Hunan” initiative, and working towards the realization of the province’s “Three Highs and Four New Missions” vision.
In the afternoon, the first meeting of the second board of directors of the Hunan Normal University Alumni Entrepreneurs Alliance was held at the Tat Ka Wai Hong Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Culture Museum. Nearly 100 entrepreneurs immersed themselves in the experience of Traditional Chinese Medicine culture, embracing the spirit of TCM. The event provided an opportunity to strengthen alumni friendships and exchange ideas on how to better build the alumni entrepreneurs alliance platform, serving alumni businesses, sharing opportunities, and fostering joint development.
Chairman Wang Yiqing, a 1989 graduate of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Hunan Normal University, has always remained deeply connected to his alma mater. While developing his own career, he has never forgotten to give back to the university. In 2016, he established the “Tat Ka Wai Hong” Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund with a donation of 1 million RMB to support or directly invest in innovation and entrepreneurship projects of young students, assist in the establishment of innovation and entrepreneurship studios for young faculty members, and reward students who have achieved outstanding results in innovation and entrepreneurship. In 2019, he donated 1 million RMB and co-founded the Hunan Normal University Maple Leaf Rural Education Revitalization Fund with the alumni association, which annually selects 10 “Excellent Rural Teachers” working at the grassroots level in education, encouraging more university students to choose rural areas, build rural communities, optimize the rural teaching workforce, and explore new paths for transforming the rural education landscape. In 2023, he donated 1 million RMB to the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Hunan Normal University to establish the “Tat Ka Wai Hong” Undergraduate Student Development Fund and the “Tat Ka Wai Hong” Retired Faculty Care Fund.
