On the afternoon of March 28, 2025, Yi Gangqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Liu Fulin, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, visited Tat Ka Wai Hong Pharmaceutical Group for cooperation and exchange between schools, enterprises, academia, research and application in order to seize the major strategic opportunity of building a “National Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone for Traditional Chinese Medicine” and promoting the modernization of the traditional Chinese medicine industry.
Liu Fulin, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, introduced that Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was formerly known as Hunan National Medical College founded in 1934. In 1960, Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established and renamed Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006. The school has selected pharmacy and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine as key disciplines for the 14th Five Year Plan in Hunan Province; Clinical medicine, pharmacology, and toxicology have entered the top 1% of ESI disciplines globally; The advantageous characteristic discipline group of traditional Chinese medicine has been selected as one of the first advantageous characteristic discipline groups in Hunan Province. Six national level platforms for high-level traditional Chinese medicine key disciplines selected for the 14th Five Year Plan by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Obtained 613 patent authorizations and 672 scientific research awards. The school actively implements the educational strategy of “going out and bringing in”, and in recent years has organized 8 overseas and foreign exchange and study programs. It has also built the world’s first research-oriented Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine at Won Kwang University in South Korea; Traditional Chinese Medicine Centers have been established in Pakistan, Cambodia, Dubai, Zimbabwe, and Madagascar, and an International Laboratory for Innovative Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Ethnic Medicines has been jointly established with the University of Karachi in Pakistan.
Subsequently, the two sides exchanged and discussed the details of cooperation. The school and enterprise can jointly build an industrial college and training center, establish a “theoretical+practical skills+health science popularization” talent training system, innovate and cultivate digital talents in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, and enhance students’ professional competence, entrepreneurial practice, and employment adaptability. Jointly establish a “school hospital enterprise” scientific and technological innovation consortium and a “smart traditional Chinese medicine” research and development laboratory, focusing on the standardization of “smart traditional Chinese medicine” quality, the innovative development of “artificial intelligence+famous traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions”, strengthening the transformation of mature hospital preparations and famous traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions, as well as the research and development cooperation of innovative traditional Chinese medicine drugs and health products, and promoting the landing and transformation of scientific research achievements. Build a close knit medical consortium and explore the combination of stem cell therapy with traditional medicine drugs to improve treatment effectiveness. Jointly promote the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine culture, relying on the two science popularization museums of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Tat Ka Wai Hong Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Culture Museum, to jointly build a distinctive, advantageous, standardized management, and high-quality service public welfare platform.
Yi Gangqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that after visiting the company’s industrial base, he felt the rapid and strong development momentum of Jiaweikang. The results of this survey are very significant.
