On the afternoon of February 22nd, a one-of-a-kind “Overseas Chinese Association Xiangjiang Xinglin Jiahui” New Area Overseas Chinese Federation Special Salon was grandly held at the Tat Ka Wai Hong Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Cultural Center. The theme of the event, “Tao Te Ching x Tai Chi, Embarking on a Journey of ‘Harmonious Body and Mind, Emotional Health Preservation,'” attracted numerous guests who immersed themselves in the unique charm of traditional Chinese medicine emotional health preservation, experiencing the perfect blend of cultural classics and physical and mental harmony.

At the beginning of the event, guests were guided by General Manager Ou Zhizhen through the Tat Ka Wai Hong Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology and Culture Museum. Adhering to the mission of “promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine culture through scientific thinking and technological means,” the museum vividly showcases the history of traditional Chinese medicine development, the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine, and the essence of Hunan medicine through rich exhibits, multimedia displays, and other forms, allowing everyone to deeply appreciate the vast depth of traditional Chinese medicine culture.

During the immersive meditation sound therapy session, the atmosphere was calm and serene. Professional sound therapists used various instruments to produce harmonious melodies, guiding guests to relax their bodies and minds, enter a deep meditative state, alleviate stress, and release emotions through soothing music, feeling a profound sense of relaxation and tranquility.

The salon also invited two distinguished guests. Emotional psychology expert Yuan Yunlu, who has published multiple monographs, created the “Autumn Water Theory,” based on both traditional Chinese culture and modern psychology, which is regarded as “Chinese psychoanalysis.” At the event, Yuan Yunlu shared his extensive research and practical experience, offering an insightful and accessible discussion on the relationship between emotions and health, as well as how psychological methods can be used for emotional health preservation, providing a truly enriching knowledge experience.

Another special guest, Tan Zhijun, Vice President of the Hunan Oracle Bone Script Society and Director of the National Operations Center of Taiji Academy, has profound insights into cultural classics such as the Tao Te Ching. He personally taught guests the Tao Te Ching and Tai Chi. When explaining the Tao Te Ching, Tan Zhijun drew extensively from examples, blending the wisdom of the classics with modern life, offering everyone a new understanding of these ancient texts. In the Tai Chi session, he demonstrated each movement with patience, guiding guests to experience the unique charm of Tai Chi’s combination of softness and firmness, motion and stillness, while appreciating the health philosophy embedded in the practice.

A Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) health consultation area was also set up at the event, where professional TCM practitioners provided free health consultations and diagnostic services to guests. Using traditional TCM diagnostic methods such as observation, smelling, questioning, and palpation, guests’ health status was evaluated, and personalized health advice and wellness plans were offered.
